Meredith’s 9 Month Sitter Session in York, PA

There’s this magical age—usually around 6 to 9 months—where babies are just starting to sit up on their own, their personalities are shining through, and they haven’t quite hit the stranger danger phase yet. It’s what we call the “sitter stage,” and it’s hands down one of my favorite milestones to photograph in my York, PA photography studio.

What Makes a York PA Sitter Photo Session So Special?

At this age, babies are expressive, curious, and full of charm. We might not get every smile—but we do get those little smirks, big eyes, belly laughs, and even the serious stares that parents know so well. That’s what I love most: capturing who they are, not just what they look like smiling at the camera.

Sitter sessions are such a sweet in-between stage—no longer a sleepy newborn, but not quite a toddler either. It’s a perfect time to freeze all those little details before the next big leap.

Meredith’s Story: Teething, Mama Snuggles, and Some Real Magic

Meredith’s sitter photo session in York, PA didn’t go quite how her mama expected. She’s usually a smiley, go-with-the-flow babe, but on this particular day, she was cutting a whole bunch of teeth and mostly just wanted to be in her mama’s arms. Totally fair!

But we weren’t about to give up. We took our time, followed her lead, and pulled out every trick in the book. (Yes, the squeaky duck made an appearance, along with a few ridiculous noises from yours truly.) And in the end? We created a beautiful, personality-packed gallery full of connection and love.

A Special Touch: Heirloom Outfits

One of my absolute favorite things from Meredith’s session? The sweet mint romper she wore. It wasn’t just adorable—it was meaningful. That little outfit was worn by both her mama and her big sister before her. How special is that?

I love when families bring heirlooms, vintage pieces, or meaningful touches into their session. Whether it’s an outfit, a blanket, or a toy passed down through generations, those little details make your images even more powerful.
