Sessions are held within the first 7-21 days after baby is born. We will schedule the actual session itself once baby arrives and mama & baby are both home and healthy.

The Kate McCord Photography studio is centrally located just off I-83, perfectly situated between York, Harrisburg, and Mechanicsburg. Inside, we have everything needed to capture stunning newborn photos in a comfortable, stress-free environment.
I provide all the essentials for your session, including a wardrobe for mama and children. The studio is stocked with diapers and wipes, so you don't have to worry about bringing anything. We also have a well-stocked snack cabinet and toys to keep older siblings entertained while they wait.
At Kate McCord Photography, we aim to make your experience as relaxed and enjoyable as possible, ensuring you leave with beautiful, timeless images of your little ones.
The best time to reserve your spot is during your second trimester. This ensures my availability. Scheduling of the session itself will be dependent on your delivery date.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Reach out to me to get the conversation started about reserving your due date. Some mamas contact me as soon as they found out, but most mamas book around the end of their second trimester! Baby already made their debut? No worries, contact me anyway and let's see if we can accommodate your in the schedule. (Hint: I'm a sucker for a squishy baby)

I hate to keep you waiting, so shortly after your session I'll share a sneak peek or two with you. Then it'll take me a few days to go through and deliver a proofing gallery of the best images to you. From here, we'll meet up via Zoom to go through your images and choose only your favorite images for your package. We will also go over wall art and album options here. Once you choose your favorites, I meticulously hand edit each image. From here if you choose a digital package, you will receive those via an online gallery. Your albums and wall art will be hand delivered to your home by me once ordered, received, and personally inspected for perfection by me.
Depending on the session type you choose, you'll arrive at my cozy studio in Etters, PA or I'll arrive at your home. I've got everything you & your baby will need set & ready to go, including a comfy couch for you & hubby to relax (or perhaps nap?) on. I photography babies from 7-21 days old while they are still sleepy & curled up. Bringing siblings? We will usually start with them & the family portion so they can head out with daddy while we move focus to the baby in the relaxed quiet environment.

She was wonderful with my energetic 2 and 4 year old boys and knew how to engage them. We have had multiple different photographers over the years in the various places we have lived, and this experience outshines them all. I typically feel pretty awkward in front of a camera, but Kate made me feel very comfortable and beautiful. She also offers client styling (if you are like me and can never decide on the right outfit for photos). This was huge for me and I took advantage both times. That's not to say you're limited to posed photos when you're in my photography studio though! I offer the option of a lifestyle set for those cozy, relaxed lifestyle shots in the comfort of my studio as well.
My studio is equipped with modern lighting, comfortable amenities, a bursting studio wardrobe for the entire family, and the most adorable newborn props. It's conveniently located across the river from Harrisburg and has easy off-street parking with ground level entry. An in studio session is the perfect way to capture those dreamy newborn photos you love along with your first portraits together as a family.

Do you love the unposed innocence of a cozy newborn session, but don't love the idea of having your session at home? Step into my cozy Etters studio where I have a beautiful, boho bedroom set up to perfectly capture a well rounded lifestyle newborn session for your new baby.
Captured in the first 3 weeks of baby's life in your home, these sessions are laid back and focused on connection. Baby will be photographed swaddled and unswaddled on one set in the studio. While there will be no traditional posing, there will still be plenty of unique opportunities to capture your baby and your family snuggled together.

The best time for your Newborn Photoshoot is when your newborn baby is between 7 to 21 days old. This is when they are sleepiest and usually easiest to settle. After this time, newborn babies can become harder to settle and this is when things like baby acne and colic can set in.
Your newborn session can take place in my Etters, PA studio or in your home depending on the type of session you choose. Posed newborns take place in the studio only. Lifestyle newborns can be held in your home or in my studio.
Yes, of course! While 7-21 days is the ideal time for a newborn session, I do still offer the opportunity for older newborns. These sessions may look different than a newborn session for a younger baby. Your baby's safety is my top priority during their session, so the posing for older newborns may be different.
The number of images you receive is dependent on the package you choose when you book your session. There's always an opportunity to add on images to your package after your session for an additional fee.
Following your session, you will receive an online gallery to select your images from within 5-7 days. Once you've chosen your images, you will receive your fully edited images within 2 to 3 weeks.
No, the editing that I do is my artistic style and I am unable to supply unedited (raw) files. You will find this to be the standard among all professional photographers.
