There’s something about a November wedding in Pennsylvania that can be a little bit of a gamble. You might get freezing temperatures, bare trees, rain… or you might get exactly what Maddie and Matt got on November 1st: crisp fall air, warm sunshine, glowing leaves, and the kind of beautiful fall day you couldn’t plan if you tried.
Their wedding at Stock’s Manor in Mechanicsburg was filled with gorgeous details, plenty of happy tears, a packed dance floor, and so much love from beginning to end.
From UPJ to “I Do”
Maddie and Matt’s story started years before their wedding day when they met at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ). One of the things they’ve always shared is a love of basketball, and somewhere along the way, being teammates in their favorite sport turned into being teammates in life.
And on November 1st, surrounded by the people who love them most, they officially started their newest season together: marriage.
A Perfect Fall Wedding Day at Stock’s Manor
Stock’s Manor was such a beautiful backdrop for their day. The historic stone, gorgeous grounds, and remaining fall color gave us SO much to work with for portraits.
And the weather absolutely showed off for them.
November in Central PA can go either way, but we had the most beautiful afternoon. The air was crisp without being miserably cold, the leaves were still glowing, and the sunshine gave us that warm fall light photographers dream about.
Maddie looked incredible in her gown from Taylored for You, and every detail of the day came together beautifully. Vows by Kathy Monte handled the planning and florals, filling the day with rich reds, pinks, greenery and romantic fall tones that looked amazing against the setting at Stock’s Manor.
And the details!! The florals, Maddie’s shoes, jewelry, perfume, rings and all of those tiny pieces that help tell the story of a wedding day deserved their own moment.
Happy Tears, Big Laughs & So Much Love
Of course, a wedding day isn’t really about the pretty details.
It’s about the people.
There were tears. There were hugs. There was a LOT of laughter. And there were so many little moments throughout Maddie and Matt’s day that showed just how loved these two are.
Those are always some of my favorite images from a wedding gallery. The portraits are beautiful, but the photograph of someone wiping away a tear, a mom looking at her daughter, or everyone completely losing it laughing together? Those are the photos that take you right back to how the day actually felt.
And Then… We Danced
Once the formalities were over, it was time to PARTY.
DJ Titus Touch brought the energy, and this crew was more than willing to bring the dancing. 😂 There was no shortage of people on the dance floor, which is exactly how a wedding reception should be.
After dinner from Stocks on 2nd, everyone got to settle in, celebrate Maddie and Matt, and dance the night away.
From the emotional moments earlier in the day to the absolute joy on the dance floor that night, their wedding had a little bit of everything.
