I Never Thought I’d Be a Newborn Photographer
When I first picked up a camera, becoming a Central PA newborn photographer wasn’t even on my radar. In fact, I used to say I’d never do it.
Too nerve-wracking. Too many details. Too delicate. I didn’t think I had the patience or the calm energy it took to photograph brand-new babies. I figured I’d stick to what felt more natural—toddlers, older kids, candid family moments full of movement and connection.
But like most things in life, my path unfolded in unexpected ways.

How It All Changed
I started photographing families in their homes, and naturally, those families began asking if I’d be willing to include their new babies in the session. I agreed—nervously at first—but those first newborns cracked something open in me.
There’s a kind of sacred stillness in those early days. The tiny details. The quiet bond between parents and baby. The sleepy yawns and soft snuggles. I found myself falling completely in love with those moments.
So, I started learning. A lot. I invested in education, attended workshops, practiced constantly, and refined my style until it felt like me—organic, timeless, and deeply heart-centered.

Becoming a Master Newborn Photographer with NAPCP
Fast forward to today—and I’m incredibly proud to say that I’ve been named a Certified Master Newborn Photographer by NAPCP (the National Association of Portrait and Child Photographers).
This certification is more than a title. It’s a rigorous, intentional process that goes beyond simply mastering the art of beautiful newborn photos. It’s also a deep dive into newborn safety, handling, and best practices. To earn this designation, I had to:
- Complete newborn safety training
- Pass detailed tests on safe posing and handling
- Demonstrate technical skill, artistic vision, and consistent excellence
- Submit a portfolio of work for peer review by industry leaders
It’s an honor I don’t take lightly—because your baby’s safety is just as important to me as the final image.

Why Certification Matters When Choosing a Central PA Newborn Photographer
There are so many photographers out there offering newborn sessions—but not all have been formally trained in infant safety.
When you book a certified Central Pennsylvania newborn photographer, you’re not just booking someone with a good camera. You’re booking someone who understands:
- How to properly support a baby’s head and body
- How to read baby cues and regulate temperature for comfort
- When to modify or skip a pose for baby’s safety
- How to maintain a clean and calming environment
This peace of mind is everything—especially in those tender, emotional first weeks of your baby’s life.

My Style: Clean, Organic, and Heartfelt
My newborn sessions are soft, timeless, and filled with genuine connection. Whether you’re drawn to a full studio session with posed images or a more natural in-home lifestyle feel, I aim to capture your baby just as they are—perfect in every way.
My work is rooted in love, emotion, and storytelling. And now, with the backing of a Master Certification, you can feel confident knowing that not only are you going to get beautiful images—but your baby is in the best possible hands.
